A literary analogy of the contributions of “Cultural Services” to the ecosystem services provided by the Sacred Groves

Background: Millennium Ecosystem Assessment categorizes the ecosystem services into four types i.e. Supporting, Provisioning, Regulatory and Cultural services. The MA defines cultural in terms of “nonmaterial benefits people obtain from ecosystems,” specifically lists “cultural diversity, spiritual religious values, knowledge systems, educational inspiration, aesthetic social relations, sense place, heritage recreation ecotourism”. Objectives: To review literature that discusses contribution values towards a more holistic valuation Methods: available 1976 to 2022 without language restriction has been covered with help secondary data analysis. Secondary information related sacred groves general regions India collected various sources including published research articles, technical reports, books supporting documents different stakeholders like organization, NGOs, Forest Department, other Govt.
